Will not stay here again. Arriving at the hotel past midnight, our rooms which were pre-confirmed were "released" by the hotel as we were meant to check-in by 1800h (which we could not since we only touched down in town at around 2200h). We were informed by the terribly rude receptionist of this - who appeared to have to spend a long time checking if there were spare rooms... when there obviously were plenty to go around. We have been to this hotel so many times and only during the annual Sugar and Wine Convention had it ever come close to being at full capacity. After what seemed like forever, we were given rooms. Also, as the hotel seems to be running on centralised air-conditioning (which is seemingly turned off, probably to save on electricity), during the warmer days, the rooms were very stuffy and uncomfortable. I have stayed here almost annually for the best part of a decade primarily because of its location, but will not do so anymore.

We booked a Raintree hotel apartment with 2 bedrooms as our family had 3 adults and 2 kids and it had a homely feel to it. They had one room with a king and another with either a single or queen. It's really comfortable complete with a kitchenette so we could order in during the winter. The rooms were wonderfully decorated japanese style and is spacious enough for my 15 month old daughter to run around. Their air conditioners had both heaters and cooling function and kept the rooms at a really comfortable temperature throughout even when it was 6-10 degrees outside. Lastly, I must give special mention to their 2 service managers Cao Li Han and Wang Jing Yu. They went out of their way to make our stay a memorable one.
