For not much money, I had checked into a Chinese “motel” closer to my sister’s house for over a week. It was quiet and in a convenient location to the public transit and within a walking distance to the city business district.
The room was clean, but the bedding was not too comfy, neither were the ragged bath towels even sewed for re-use. The breakfast (10 RMB for ordinary members) was below the average for those who to taste the local food.
This GreenTree Inn in is only 10-15 minutes away from the Binjiang Business Walking District. But it's not on Nanjing Road nor within the walking street. It's a good hotel with a misleading description of its name on TripAdvisor.com's website. It's one of the popular small hotel chains similar to a motel chain in the U.S., cheap and providing conveniences for travelers' basic needs.
