Never mind the small and uncomfortable bathroom ir the clugged sink, the worst was the charging process. Booked through booking.com they process a one night charge prior to arrival. Charging the credit card is done through a Chinese agency Ctrip. Had to cancel twice and booked for the third time. They charged me 3 times, never refunded the cancelled bookings, and upon arrival requested me to pay AGAIN plus a deposit. 4 charges for one night. Now I hear that the deposit is ti be refunded. The other 3 charges seem to be gone. Booking.com makes life comlicated by requesting my bank statement to verify the charges. So unnecessarily cumbersome. To be fair, staff was nice although no English spoken, and breakfast was fine.

Stayed here two nights on a business trip and was reasonably satisfied with the accommodation & service. First off this isn't a hotel that caters to westerners so relatively little English is spoken. With a few key words, gestures and the helpful staff you can get yourself housed, fed and watered. My non-smoking room had probably been smoked in a couple of time but it wasn't too bad. I used the buffet for breakfast, it had a reasonable selection but not a lot of western choices. The food was pretty good for a buffet. I used the in-house Chinese restaurant for dinner. The food was acceptable, communication a little challenging but again the staff did their best. There isn't much around the hotel. A muslim restaurant in the area that was very good and 2-3 blocks away there is a small store and some fruit stands. this hotel met my needs during my business stay in Urumqi.

Fine hotel with fair prices for a business trip. Far from the centre, somewhat far from the expo as well, but the plentiness of taxis in Urumqi will solve your problems of transportation. Great restaurants nearby.
