Eway Xintiandi Hotel - Kunming

The hotel is far remote from kunming town. No restaurant also.Our overseas credit card are not acceptable, we have to pay cash for the 2 rooms.Not very convenient for travellar. I would not stay there again next time.

We stayed here as we were attending a wedding in the minority park which is a short walk away. The rooms were clean and spacious but all in our group found the beds extremely hard, more than your typical bed in China. The front desk said they took Visa but the card reader would not take our cards. We were suspicious they were just avoiding the service charge. A beakfast buffet is included but it is not western although adequate.

Although I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, it had some drawbacks. I found the hotel decor charming, and the scenic setting outside of the city near Dianchi Lake really suited my needs. It was also right next door to the Cultural Village which had a market and food stalls. However, there was some difficulty communicating with the hotel staff and there wasn't a restaurant on-site other than an unusual breakfast buffet. Also, I arrived in Kunming from Canada at midnight and it was difficult to find a taxi driver who was willing to drive the 20 mins out of town to this unheard of hotel - plus the 20 minutes became an hour because we couldn't find the hotel on the isolated road. I did enjoy the green surroundings and the loveliness of the hotel though.
