Sifu Yashe Boutique Inn - Lijiang

I found this place by just walking around. It is by far the best find I've ever made. The outside is old town style and look but in the rooms it is ALL modern. The beds are soft and the bathrooms very western. The staff is the most amazing. Several speak very good English and they are so helpful. On my first day they took out a map and asked me what type of places I like and what kind of food I like. Then he marked the map of several places. Also gave me his number and said if I need any help w translation to call them! Price is great for what you are getting!

The hotel is located at Wuyi Street in Old Town, which is the busiest street of the town. After u walk out the hotel, shops n restaurant r there. It is Naxi Style hotel, very traditional. Staff r very nice and kind. They have pick-up service from Lijiang Airport to the hotel if u require (surcharge apply). Staff r very helpful n happy to provide suggestion about famous scene, restaurant, etc. We book several one day tour per staff's suggestion. Price is quite reasonable n tour r really nice. The hotel also have a small yard. You can drink tea n chat there.

I arrived late this afternoon, only to be told that the establishment no longer did business with Agoda and even though I had already paid in full, they did not have any rooms available. After a few minutes, they 'found' a room, at almost three times the price I had already paid. If they had in fact already informed Agoda in June that they no longer wanted the business, Agoda should have contacted me. The hotel staff did not seem to give a damn about the unfortunate turn of events. It was quite stressful finding alternative accommodation in peak season here but other locals have been wonderfully helpful and I now have a lovely room for this evening.
