Angsana Hangzhou Hotel

I stayed at Angsana Hangzhou from 13 to 16 March. In terms of location, it is very strategic, near the Xixi Wetland Park and close to Dong Yue MRT Station (Yellow/Line 3)—it has secret access through the small bridge behind the hotel. The atmosphere around the area is very peaceful, with a lot of F&B offerings. The first impression was not really impressive; hotel facilities are noticeably dated and show their age. The rooms are quite spacious, with a comfortable bed and clean linen; however, the towel is quite old already, and I also found some cigarette butts on the outdoor balcony. They provide 2 can of Sprite and 2 cans of Coke, but the minibar is not functioning properly, so I ended up kept my yogurt outside, as the temperature outside is colder than inside the room However, any shortcomings in the physical aspects were more than compensated by the outstanding service, especially from the front desk team. My biggest thanks to Alex, who helped me a lot with my itinerary, and two kind ladies, Willa Shen and Molly Gao, who helped me to arrange to get my phone back from the Tianzi Wan Park Management Office. Your help was unforgettable, and I am forever grateful for your assistance.

Located in the Xixi Wetlands, this is a beautiful place if u like to be close to nature! the Wetlands parks offer a variety of experiences, from leisurely strolls to boat rides. Morning runs within the area is a great experience, where the air is fresh! The hotel restaurant is quite good, and there are also plenty of other restaurants nearby as well.

Hotel was fine. Nothing spectacular. At multiple times throughout my 2-day stay, I’d say 4/5 of the lobby staff wasn’t wearing a mask, or had it on below the chin. Unlike other hotels, nobody took peoples’ temperature upon arrival, something that seems like it should be the norm. At night a dinner party came in and out of the lobby, some of them smoking openly. Room was nice, albeit located in a shopping area without the feel of being in a Wetland. Rooftop pool was closed due to light rain, understandably so. Breakfast was fine. Overall, the location is nice if you want a change from West Lake and can get to enjoy the wetlands. I have 50+ nights in different hotels this year, and overall, I was underwhelmed by the Angsana here and also in Xian. You’re paying for the name brand I think. You can get better service, food, accommodations in some of the lower levels of Accor hotels.
