Hangzhou Southline Hotel

Stayed here for a night. Location of this place is good, as it is very next to westlake. Front desk staff were friendly although they couldnt speak much English. The room was pretty ordinary. Since I stayed alone it was fine for me. I didnt try food in the restaurant, but there are many options if one can walk around the street. This place near to the shopping street as well. Overall it is good value for money.

Stayed here two nights with my teen-aged kids. The price is right, the location can't be beat, and the staff is charming and eager to please. But I'm afraid I have to concur with others that for westerners, only the most frugal and robust will love this place. Stairs are long and steep, rooms are high-mileage, and the all-Chinese breakfast ranged from OK (when we arrived early) to appalling (when we arrived in the last half hour of the 7-9 slot.) And without my Chinese-speaking daughter we would have been toast, since few if any of the staff speak much English. However, if you speak a bit of the language, are pinching pennies, and don't insist on western standards, this may be just the place.

I was here 2 days and nothing impressive. The room big enough with a strange decor. The staff are very helpful but they don't understand much English so so when I ask them something it's hard to explain. No elevator and I have take the stairs all the way with heavy suitcases. That not good. Located next to the famous hangzhou west lake where you can walking around for a day of ralaxing, closed to the shopping area's and more nice restaurants,...Overall hotel is value for money.
