HANGZHOU THE EAST HOTEL HANGZHOU

I have to say that Mark is a professional hotel receptionist. He has provided a variety of suggestions for our trip to Hangzhou and upgraded the hotel room type for us. The facilities and services of the hotel are perfect, which brings us a comfortable living experience. I really enjoy it!

Wow, this hotel exceeded my expectations. Modern and luxurious, with extremely helpful and friendly staff. Got upgraded to an extremely spacious room with a living space and a massive bathroom. Room was extremely well-thought through. I loved the small touches such as the Longjing Tea set in my room, the bath salts, the well-stocked amenity kits. Room slippers were extremely fluffy, bathroom was very comfortable. The breakfast was also fantastic - the Hangzhou noodles was delicious and comes with their local pancake. Overall, at excellent stay and a hotel I will definitely stay again next time. Special shoutout to Jason for giving us recommendations.

My husband and I stayed at The East Hotel in Hangzhou for 3 nights.  The rooms were large and very quiet (we were on the top floor, floor 10, having requested a high room, just in case there had been a lot of traffic noise).  The hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly.  The mini bar was free and replenished everyday (soft drinks, beer and water).  Breakfast was also very nice, a mix of buffet and a choice from the menu as well (the mix was Western and Asian).  The Hangzhou shrimp breakfast was excellent; a broth with shrimp, noodles and vegetables,  accompanied by two separate dumplings and a local flat wrap filled with vegetables.  Very tasty, very filling and very well presented.  In fact all breakfast dishes were well presented.  The area the hotel is located in was about a one hour walk to the lake and city centre, which was fine for us; but if you don't enjoy walking, then you could take a taxi or a bus.  Around the hotel there were plenty of places to eat and also lots of bakeries, fruit shops and coffee shops.  In fact on the same road as the hotel walking towards to city (opposite side of the road) was a superb very small coffee shop called something like "Sensory".  The guy took great pains over his coffee and you even had the choice of about 6 beans.    If you don't want to be surrounded by lots of other tourists and feel like you are in more of a local area, then we highly recommend this hotel.
