Hangzhou Meiziqing Hotel

We stayed here in August 2019 as part of a tour. Although there were a large number of us checking in, the process was relatively quick and smooth. The rooms were nice, and equipped with the regular facilities. Breakfast variety was good, and there was a small convenience store next door for basic snacks and drinks.

Was a wonderful hotel and the rooms are clean and comfy from the slippers to robes and tooth brush and all amenities offered. Breakfast buffet was excellent as well Staff was efficient and helpful and used translation app if they didn't understand English which really helped cause we didn't know any Chineese

Recently my bother-in-law, his wife and my wife, were on an 11 day tour of China provided by Nexus Holiday tours. Starting in Beijing, we eventually found ourselves at the Meiziqing Hotel for our stay in Hangzhou after a couple hour bus ride. The checkin was quick, we stashed our bags in our rooms and regrouped for the day's excursions. The tour brochure described Hangzhou as “Paradise on Earth”, which has been immortalized by countless poets and artists." The plan was to stay in Hungzhou till the next morning at which time we would visit a few more attractions, then head to Shanghai. Thus only one night at the Meiziqing. Having arrived early afternoon from Beijing the tour group gathered for a trip to scenic West Lake where a number of us took the boat ride around the lake followed by a group dinner at a nearby restaurant. After dinner, most of us returned to the hotel for the evening. The Meiziqing Hotel was quite nice. The pictures on this website are true to form. The room was bright, clean and well appointed as was our hotel in Beijing. So far we all have been surprised about the quality of the accommodations. We had no complaints. The breakfast buffet the next morning was extensive. There was even an accommodation to the European travelers (e.g. Baked Beans and cold cuts), but as expected, most of the offerings were local dishes. It was nice change to be able to get steamed buns and noodle dishes in the morning and the breads and sweets were quite delicious. We could easily get used to that buffet. After breakfast we were off to a tea plantation then a 5 hour bus ride to Shanghai. So the stay was short, the accommodations certainly 4 star and if we ever return to Hangzhou, we would certainly consider the Meiziqing Hotel for our stay.
