Best Western Jianghua Hotel Ningbo

Staff rude but this is China...not known for their customer service and friendliness...call around the area before booking! Some hotels price match...BW is located in a great area to access lots of western food and entertainment...

It is located right off the Bund stretch with all the bars, so one gets a selection of restaurants within an arm's reach. The nearest metro is quite close, about 10 mins walk. Major attractions can also be walked to but might be a bit difficult during summer when it is very hot and humid in the city. The hotel itself has seen its better days for sure, the interior needs refreshing. However, overall the room was clean. The bed very comfortable. I stayed on my own so chose not to make a big issue out of it, but there was no door to the bathroom! The design of the bathroom is the typical Chinese glass thing and I assume the door broke and it was removed. Also the curtain covering the big glass partition to the bathroom is a very flimsy thing and it might be not well received by more shy people staying together. The bathroom itself was quite clean, leaks from the sink were obvious though. Breakfast mostly Chinese, they serve fried eggs and other usual Chinese breakfast dishes. Was okish. If one needs a no frills kind of place for a sleep it is certainly recommended. If you are fussy though, you will need to look for a newer establishment. The staff at the front desk spoke some English and were very helpful. I suppose they get quite a few foreigners and are used to the typical questions/needs. I would go back as it is good value for money.

Hotel doesn't deserve 4 stars...very poor facility, can not find room for conference. Reception desc don't understand or speak English. When finaly explaine I need one place for bussines meeting with supplier, they ask me 500RMB!!! Room small and non comfor...very bad for money they ask...
