Guomao Grand Hotel Wenzhou

I really enjoyed my large room, though on a business trip I had a lot of stuff to unload. A big plus are the spa and massage facilities inside the hotel. The prices are really low for what you get. This slightly far from the centre, but for 2 dollars you can get anywhere in the city. It's pretty close to the airport though. If u want some entertainment then go to 'nantang jie' which is a relatively close art street with coffee shops, restaurants and clubs.

At a glance this hotel looks like a 4 Star Hotel, but just from far. Beds are comfortable and clean, but some of the edges and corners in the room need more cleaning attention and the nice and fairly big bathroom could do with some repainting of the ceiling (all black). The wardrobs are so dark (and too narrow) that you can't even see what's in them. To use the in-room safe you need a pocket lamp to read the instructions. Windows could do with some more regular cleaning. Nice in-room coffee/tea bar which is re-filled daily. Staff is nice and friendly. Breakfast buffet is OK and so is the WiFi in the room !

This hotel was booked for us by a Chinese associate. We had a suite. The furniture was so filthy we had to put robes on a chair to sit down, the table and chairs had broken legs. There was a roach in the bathroom. The bathroom ceiling was rusty. There was mildew everywhere and the windows were so dirty you couldn't see out. Although it was polluted outside too. We had been traveling around China and staying at mostly Chinese hotels that were fine so we weren't really spoiled, we just like clean places. The staff were very nice.
