Hyde Jianguo

For a standard business type Hotel in China this is a gem. What makes it special is the staff. Upon arrival myself and three colleagues experienced something none of us had done before. Although all four of us are seasoned hotel dwellers across the length and breath of China, we were virgins when it came to this particular experience. What follows is a true account of checking into The Magnificent Hyde Jianguo Hotel, Yiwu, China. Moments after stepping up to reception expecting to endure the usual drawn out and often frustrating check in process, we were handed a refreshing glass of water each by a friendly member of staff. " Wonderful ! " I hear you cry , but that was just a taste of what was about to be bestowed upon us. Hold on tight folks , we were then handed our key cards ! Yes siree, we were free to go to our rooms without further questioning or delay. Our key cards had been meticulously pre-prepared for us. " Hold on ! " I squealed in delight while moonwalking towards` a tray of polo mints I had spotted, " I've only just handed them my Passport, there must be some mistake " . The friendly Manager assured us everything was fine, to relax and head up to our suites, that our luggage will follow, and to enjoy our stay. I should add here they were very clean and comfortable suites. Now in the lift, still pinching ourselves and double checking it wasn't April 1st, my friend Michael commented " then maybe we flew to Thailand by mistake ! " ...... There it was, the ultimate compliment. Thanks to all the staff at the Hyde Jianguo and keep up the good work !

We stayed at this hotel when it was ewly opened. It was an oasis considered the off the beaten track location. Food was western standard, staff and management polite and English speaking.

No facilities. Staff rude, unhelpful. Beer very weak. Bad location. Is not really a Ramada although they advertise it as one.
