Excelsior

Stayed three nights in January; booked through Expedia. Booked a ‘suite’ with kitchen. Room assigned 207: 1. Smelt of damp/ mould 2. Dirty and stained carpet 3. Large stain on ceiling 4. Peeling paintwork Evening management team agreed to room change. Night porter commented that room 207 was very bad. Moved to room 105- better. But not as described on their website. 1. Website advertises tempur beds and good quality showers - in reality bed was hard (and not a tempur mattress) and shower had poor water pressure in evening. 2. Pictures show a hotel in good condition. In reality hotel is in poor condition and hall way carpet is Filthy with dirt 3. Website promotes an authentic friendly experience. The hotel is not authentic: - breakfast was Colombian but the worst we experienced in Colombia - they even removed 1 piece of fruit from my plate as I had taken 2 and only 1 was allowed apparently - porters and night manager were friendly and helpful but day receptionist and dining room staff were polite but unhelpful - room 105 was kept clean by staff (thank you) - pre-booked taxi (that day receptionist booked) to airport did not arrive and then night porter had to recover situation with a yellow taxi (best to avoid). All in all worst hotel experience in a long time. There are far better options in the Zona ROSA.

This hotel is in a very good location in Zona Rosa area, just a few steps away. Most of the staff were friendly and smiling but English is not a language they speak however they do try. The hotel is rather old and a bit run down, could do with refurbishment but again for the price it is value for money. Breakfast is okay very simple but always could be better.

Spent 10 nights in November 2018. It is a nice, cosy hotel. A bit run down but the bed and toilets are clean and comfortable. Only issue was the music from the night club next door in the weekend till 3 AM. Breakfast is pre-served in a plate, not many options. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Particular callout to Oscar from the front desk. Always smiling and helpful.
