Absolutely unacceptable experience at Radisson Bogotá. I booked through Hotels.com with a confirmed online reservation of approximately US$225. At check-in, they suddenly demanded approximately US$260, blaming their exchange rate.
I refused to accept the explanation and asked for the manager. Instead of correcting the charge, the manager gave me the same ridiculous excuse and insisted on the higher amount. After arriving with a confirmed reservation, I was basically forced to pay if I wanted to check in.
From my perspective, this felt like being robbed at check-in. You cannot confirm one price online and then demand more money once the guest arrives and has little choice. I will be disputing the overcharge with my credit-card company and reporting this to Hotels.com and Radisson Corporate.
A hotel carrying the Radisson name should be embarrassed to treat customers this way. Be extremely careful and verify exactly what they charge you.
