Irotama Resort

Yesterday we arrived at the Irotama. We were planning to stay 1 week, including today, my husband's birthday. 45 years after my first visit to the hotel, which I still remember in the Bungalow of that time, among that beautiful forest, I found a dirty, noisy place with run-down facilities. Our bungalow had fallen drawers, a shower with no pressure, doors that opened with difficulty, and baseboards that, on top of everything, fell off. Our 1-night stay was so unpleasant that we preferred to return to our apartment in Bogota. Very, very sad how we felt and how they ruined the memories I had since I was a child.

It is one of my favorite hotels, which is why on this sixth or seventh visit, the hotel continues to be very beautiful despite the loss of nature and green spaces due to the increase in neighboring construction. There were several details that take points away: they no longer give the welcome cocktail that was a classic, there is less, much less service at the pool, it is difficult to order something because you cannot find anyone, a marked decrease in the variety of the buffets (although the food is still very good), you no longer see recreation staff, nor do they offer tours of the iguana lake; all of this, although simple, made a difference. The service in the lobbies has also been distant and not very cordial; at the time of check-out, if you ask for the invoice in a specific name, they state that you have to send the tax ID beforehand to an email address when one is already leaving and in a hurry. Remember that the regulation says that only the name, identification, and email address are needed, nothing more, so there is no reason to put up so many obstacles. Overall, I still love the hotel very much, I had a wonderful time, but they are losing things that made them different from the others.
