I chose Decameron because I stayed here 20 years ago, and it was one of the most fun vacations I’ve ever had. Now that I’m back, the resort feels outdated and could benefit from better organization, especially during mealtimes. If you don’t arrive right when the restaurant opens, you’ll often have to wait outside for a table. Once you’re inside, there are separate lines for almost everything, so by the time you finally sit down, your food is already cold. The staff is friendly, but the dining experience needs to be managed much more efficiently. I did not like that my room was next to the electrical room and I had to listen to it every time it was on. The resort also needs significant renovations. Many areas feel worn and outdated, including the doors, windows, air conditioning controls, and especially the bathrooms. Updating these facilities would make a huge difference in the overall guest experience. Considering what the resort charges, there should be more than enough resources to maintain and modernize the property. Guests paying these rates should expect facilities that are well maintained and a smoother overall experience. This resort has a lot of potential because of its location and the great memories many guests have here, but it needs investment and better organization to bring it back to the level it once was.
