We toured Punta Leona as a potential site for our destination wedding. As we are looking for somewhere that can also house all of our guests we toured the accommodations on the resort. I was very excited when I saw this 6 unit building, it is in the middle of some houses but it blended in okay. Has a cute pool and grill area with an outside bathroom, would be perfect for families with kids since they're all apartments. BUT, the furniture is what would have been considered "futuristic" or "modern" in the 80's- think metal and leather with a large slouchy microfiber couch. All of these things would have been fine (though the building is very tuscan looking and when you walk in, it's very 80's apartment looking) but the smell! It smells so musty and you can literally see the damage to the walls underneath the A/C units where the A/C is clearly not draining properly and it's causing a stinky mold/mildew issue. I would not have felt comfortable asking my guests to stay in this building. It was the theme of Punta Leona property as a whole- good intentioned and lots of potential but poorly executed with zero follow-through.
