Autentico Hotel

Spent two evenings in San Jose. Staff at front desk is friendly and helpful. It was easy to check in and check out. Breakfast had a nice variety of cold and hot food. Dinner options are good. Did not get a chance to use the swimming pool which looked inviting. The room was comfortable. Air conditioner worked fine. Basic toiletries available. I walked to the city center which was a leisurely fifty minutes. You are able to take a bus on main avenue just three blocks away. Definitely a good place to stay if you want to be away from main area..

We stayed at this hotel during a trip where we visited five countries in Central America, including Costa Rica. Overall, the hotel itself was fine...clean, comfortable, and we didn’t have any major issues with the facilities. However, our experience was negatively impacted by one of the breakfast buffet staff members (her name is Wendy). Unfortunately, she came across as unfriendly and consistently displayed a noticeable attitude, which is not the kind of interaction you want first thing in the morning. When requesting food, there was no warmth or courtesy, just a sense that you were inconveniencing her. Considering that breakfast is included in the stay, (and the stay itself is not inexpensive) the level of service we received was disappointing and felt unacceptable. Interactions like this can make guests feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. I hope management addresses this, as improving customer service in this area would make a significant difference in the overall guest experience.

This is a nice hotel with wonderful staff. Although our room was somewhat noisy, we truly appreciated the excellent service. In particular, we would like to highlight Elton, whose warm and attentive approach made us feel especially welcome both at breakfast and during dinner.
