Hotel Santo Tomas

Our group of 3 couples stayed here for one night before embarking on the Camino de Costa Rica. The staff were friendly and helpful. The building had character, breakfast was tasty (although the coffee was very weak). Beds were comfortable; the whole hotel was very clean. We would stay here again.

We had booked an economy room. It was not only very old but also unkempt. No way to operate the air conditioning system instead an old fan, the curtains were dirty, the old carpets disgusting, the bedside lamp had not been dusted for a long time. In the bathroom were still hairs from the predecessor on the shower curtain, the soap rack lubricated with old side steps.We left early (before 8 am) , unfortunately there was no way to get a breakfast to go. Overall, we had a very bad experience at this hotel. There are many homeless and junkies in the surrounding streets of the hotel.

We really enjoyed our stay here. This is a lovely hotel with a pool in a yard, which is great for relaxing after sightseeing. Our room was large and comfortable. I would definitely recommend a room on the top floor. Breakfast was really good and the staff were great.
