Stay at this hotel if you are going to spend time in the water and the National Park. This is not your Marriott or Hilton, but rather a hotel in a great location with easy access to the ferry, the cystal clear water and the National Park. Yes, it is a little dated and well used, but the team (Eddie @ the front desk, LindaLita in the front office and others) will provide you terrific service. Breakfast is better than average as well.
TIPS:
1) IF YOU HAVE a TICKET TO THE NATIONAL PARK - The Hotel can extend the # of days for your pass without you having to pay for day!!! This is a HUGE TIP!
2)The chairs on the deck for reading near the bar are scarce during the day. Despite the posting of not saving chairs, it happens pretty much all day. Get there early or at lunch.
3) You can dive into the water from the deck near the kiddie pool. It is deep here.
4) Bar Service, could definitely use an attitude adjustment. Service is slow and not very friendly. The hotel could make improvement hear.
5) There is plenty of seating indoors and out for breakfast. There are signs saying to not take the food out of the venue...Not sure why they have them since almost everyone I saw was packing lunch. I would get rid of these signs and improve the quality of the hotel and rating.
6) You don't have to go anywhere else for Sunset. Just head down to the bar and patio.
Glad we stayed here. Super convenient, bed was better than average and the staff was very helpful. You won't find a better location on Mljet with access to the NP.

Lovely view of bay from room. Half board was fine. Good variety, seafood risotto brilliant. Staff friendly and helpful. No pool, but has its own loungers etc along the excellent seafront. Nice comfy bar by the water, which was crystal clear with plenty of safe access points. Hotel's right by the landing pier with ferries to Dubrovnik and Split/Korčula. Lots of Croatian tourists in hotel and not many Brits, which is nice. They like their food! Also, ok for all age groups. Good value overall, though transfers were lengthy but well organised.

Positives: this hotel is in a beautiful location with the sea quite literally on its doorstep, you can see ships coming in all day and it is fun to watch, and the beach bar is brilliant. Breakfast was quite nice and the staff at reception were really friendly and helpful!!
Negatives: there is a strange smell in the corridors, our group has mixed feelings on the beds with some feeling comfier than others, there are not enough pillows. The rooms are in need of a lot of renovations, the air conditioning in both rooms we occupied did not work properly leaving the rooms feeling stuffy. The rooms are shabby and dated and the bathroom smells weird, the food dinner was inedible (the chips felt soggy and undercooked).
There is random furniture in the hallways, and it just looks dirty, the bathroom is too small. The shower is especially too small, everywhere other than the main building. There appears to be no form of elevator, so you have to drag your suitcases up and downstairs, this also means it is not disabled, friendly for a large portion of the building. There's no coffee machines in the rooms or free water and it's little quality of life things like those that would partially improve the stay.
While the island of Mijet is beautiful. I do not feel like you need more than a full day here, and unfortunately, as there are no other hotels on the island, if you want a hotel you've got to stay here, unfortunately it feels like this hotel has not been updated in 30 or so years, the hotel could be charming with serious updates and cleaning, but until that happens manage your expectations!
I feel like as there is no competition from other hotels on mijet there's no motivation to improve the facilities on offer.
