Villa Royal

Began with a 75yr and 65 yr women having to carry our suitcases up 2 and a half flight of stairs, Rooms were supposed to be cleaned in the week we stayed, had to ask for a hoover and cleaning products to clean the bathroom and bedroom. Dirty marks in the bathroom when we 1st arrived still there the day we left. Promised they would be done they weren't. Would not recommend it tui downgraded it from a 4 star down to 3 star but l would say it was a 2 star at the best.

I dont usually do negative reviews but want people to know what to expect, there is better accommodation out there, even in an exparea like Cavtat. Ok, it is in a quiet location about 10 mins walk from town and the bus station, rooms have a nice view over the hills and there is free parking. But, the rooms are very tired, a room that has never been upgraded can never look clean. They have had new furniture and shower trays re tiled. There was no shower gel, I always bring my own but unusual not to find any supplied, towels have seen better days. We had room 202, the water tank clonked every few mins, fridge was noisy and bathroom floor dirty. On our first night there were high winds and a shutter in an unoccupied room was banging all night, when we mention this to staff in the morning they shrugged it off. On the plus we were moved to room 206 which was better as it was bigger but no more upgraded than the first room other, than no noises. The breakfast wasn't worth it, cornflakes or museli and plastic cheese and a couple of salami, there was yogurt but only oranges and apples, credit to them they got me gluten free cornflakes and bread but thought I could toast my bread in the normal toaster which as a coeliac I cant. It's the first hotel ive had to take my own banana to breakfast.

We ended up staying at Villa Royal after our flight home was cancelled. We stayed for 2 days. Clean room, comfortable bed, great shower and you have a balcony to sit outside and dry your clothes. You'll need to bring your own shampoo and body wash for the shower. Maria at the front desk was so helpful and Ivana made a lovely breakfast every morning.
