Zagreb Hotel

Fabulous food at reasonable prices. I had the Frite de mere and my husband had the pork ribs - absolutely delicious. The restaurant is fine dining and feels really special. The only criticism we have is that they are too popular. We were told there was a table for us, but waited another 10 minutes before we were seated, in the meantime another couple walked up and were taken straight to a table by another team member, they did not have booking as we heard them say so. We feel that guests should be seated in the order they arrive, rather than by which team member they approach, especially as the young lady who seated them knew we had been eating too. That spas the manger was apologetic and our first drinks were complimentary to compensate. Given how busy they were we would recommend pre booking.

We came here for a special meal out on holiday, and were surprised to see that the food prices were very competitive with other local restaurants. The wine prices took our breath away, but the cocktails were amazing. We both chose risottos and very much enjoyed them. It was a beautiful evening in such a lovely atmosphere. It was so nice to see this hotel renovated and open to the public again, such a beautiful building and lovely gardens. Staff were attentive, professional but friendly. They all looked like models! We were made to feel very welcome. You can see a lot of care and attention has gone into reopening the hotel and restaurant.

We ate at their restaurant - three women in early fifties. The food was divine. We ordered the risotto, ribs and prawn and fried ravioli. It’s fine dining so you would have to order an extra dish if you are a big eater but the prices were so reasonable that you could afford to do that. Beautifully presented and absolutely scrumptious. And the service - we had four servers at our service and they were all adorable. And the high heels wine paired delectably with the ravioli incase you were wondering.
