Blue Waves Resort

Nice hotel in a great location, but it does not deserve the 4☆ rating. At breakfast, there were no fresh fruits from the region, instead cheap sweetened fruit salad from a can and cheap juice from a machine. Very disappointing for the children, because there is not even a watermelon. The restaurant manager was so rude, I have never experienced anything like it. At a hotel in this price range, one expects more service for the guests. We are very glad that we did not book the half-board, it would have annoyed us immensely. Price and performance do not match.

⭐⭐☆☆☆ 2/5 stars. We spent four nights at the Blue Waves Resort and had expected much more based on the pictures and descriptions. First, the positive aspects: The entire facility is exceptionally clean and well-maintained. Rooms, paths, pools, and public areas are in good condition. The staff was consistently friendly and helpful. The warm welcome upon arrival remains particularly positive in our memory. Instead of simply handing over the room key, we were personally guided through the facility and received a detailed orientation. It is also worth highlighting the very good accessibility. Even pool areas are easily accessible, which is unfortunately not found everywhere. The location directly on the long beach promenade and the crystal-clear water are also real advantages. Unfortunately, the positive aspects largely end here for us. The facility overall appears very built-up and convoluted. Many paths lead past underground garages, supplier entrances, or technical areas. As a result, there is little vacation atmosphere. Additionally, the extensive use of plastic materials creates a rather cheap overall impression. Artificial turf areas, plastic loungers, plastic cushions, and the pool surrounds in wood look make the outdoor areas appear less high-quality than one would expect from a hotel of this category. Furthermore, many facilities that were advertised were closed during our stay. The pool bar, beach bar, lobby bar, and à la carte restaurant were listed on the signs, but were not in operation. The existing QR ordering system also did not work. Regardless of where it was used, only an error message appeared. Especially with the closed bars, a functioning system would have been sensible. We were particularly disappointed with the gastronomy. The breakfast offered a sufficient selection, but was nearly identical every morning. The dinner often felt like mass catering with a high convenience factor. Many dishes were poorly seasoned, sauces appeared artificial, and the presentation was careless. Additionally, we noticed during the front cooking that the chef prepared the freshly made egg dishes without a head covering. This left us with no professional impression. There is also potential for improvement in terms of organization. Repair work was carried out during the day directly among the guests by the pool, without barriers or consideration. Additionally, we were repeatedly awakened in the mornings by loud cleaning work in the hallways. Our conclusion: The Blue Waves Resort is not a bad facility. It is clean, tidy, and beautifully situated. However, we believe it lacks structure, atmosphere, and service quality. The facility has potential, but it requires significantly stronger leadership and more focus on the guest experience from our perspective. After four nights, we were glad to move on. For our personal vacation taste, we would neither book the hotel again nor recommend it further.

The hotel is located in a beautiful spot right by the beach. It is well-maintained, clean, and meets the standards of a 4‑star property, with very friendly and attentive staff. The lower rating is mainly due to the average food quality – the selection was limited (for example, there was no plant-based milk at breakfast,..), and the overall quality of the dishes was only mediocre, with some items, such as the fish, being significant overcoced.
