La Habanera

Called in for a drink one evening, old colonial style building, bit battered in places but it has a terraced bar over looking the pedestrian high street. You can soak up the sounds and atmosphere of Baracoa and still feel a little bit away from the hawkers. Gaviota run Hotel with tourist desk in foyet.

We had a light dinner here because they were out of most of the more appealing things on the menu. We cannot recommend the fruit salad or the chicken sandwich. It is centrally located. Friendly service.

The hostel is very simpel. Kind people. Rooms are simple and not the cleanest I have encountered in Cuba. It's state owned which reflects the service rendered. It is located in the center of Baracoa which is great. Fantastic view from the veranda on the the busy street life.
