Having been to, and reviewed the Green Holiday Village in Alsancak, Kyrenia, Northern Cyprus, I have some awful news! In trying to book there again for 2014, local enquiries revealed that the Green Holiday Village is no longer a hotel; apparently, it now used as accommodation for the staff who work at the Casino! The hotel has recently suffered a serious flooding, but whether that is the reason for its current use, I have no idea. I'm going to Kyrenia again in September 2014, and will report back on any further news of this brilliant hotel.

the room and facilities just as good as the last 2 yrs,if we had a problem with the room.the reception sorted out that day.We stay from 6/9/2012 to 27/9/2012,Hire a car ,with discount from greenvillage, just a run about, for the day then, visit local restaurants at night. We did not use the hotel at night very rare ,1 or 2 times ,as we eat breakfast, everyday, somedays lunch at the pool bar. The local bus is easy to use into kyrenia [or known as girne] from the hotel run allday I think the last one about 23-00pm. Value for money local restaurants Silver Rocks [Lapta] , Tasmahzen Acmenya ,Blue door, The blue dolphin, all in the local village or in Kyrenia or on the way in The excellent Ambiance beach club restaurant ,Hirdeniz fish type restaurant or Calamari restaurant,You try the Pine Bay Club for British breakfast as well as lunch /dinner. Northern Cyprus value for money were ever you stay in 3- 4- 5- star .

We stayed here end of October 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. All the comments about the cleanliness and attention to detail are well deserved - the staff were courteous and helpful, the pool and surrounding area was immaculately kept, and although it was nearing the end of the season, there was provision for hot poolside snacks through the afternoons. We encountered one or two whose opinion was affected by the lack of bacon and sausages at breakfast - but this is Turkish culture, so "when in Rome (or North Cyprus) do as the Romans do" - the breakfasts were tasty and filling and varied. All in all a place we would be more than happy to return to in the future.
