Cyprus Villages Kalavasos

Lovely apartment very quaint and tastefully decorated. Staff helpful and attentive. Kitchen with toaster, coffee machine, kettle - plus of course stove and fridge. Air conditioning in every environment and very effective. Swimming pool 5 minutes walk, very quiet and pleasant.

Arrived at Tochni Tavetn Tochni to be told we were at Kalavassos. Apartment sleeping 3 with kitchen, balcony, and 2 bathrooms was great. Pool was a bit of a trek, but private, which was a shock because we were expecting Tochni with pool which would have been immediate. We went back to Tochni Tavern Restaurant to eat twice because food was good and tasty, but a dish was forgotten both nights. Overall we were very pleased.

We booked a premium apartment with pool view but we got another apartment 5 minutes walk away from the pool. When we asked why we didn’t got what we booked we were told that the pool apartments were under renovations which we didn’t got any information about during the booking. As we couldn’t find the pool we asked a local lady for directions. She also told us that the pool was a communal pool for the entire village. The apartment we got was bit difficult to find but after a while we found it. The apartment was nice looking but we soon discovered that the maintenance was very poor. The AC didn’t work in one of the rooms. There was a floor fan which didn’t worked either. Out of 4 light bulbs in the kitchen, only one worked. The refrigerator was not stable which made the door difficult to close and also the small ice compartment very frosty. Television set didn’t worked as there was no antenna connected. We arrived on a Saturday. On the Monday we got the apartment cleaned. On Thursday afternoon we discovered a bag outside the door with cleaning and bed material. That’s it! The kitchen had a lack of utensils so we bought a kitchen knife and some other stuff which we left in the apartment when we checked out. The apartment is not suitable for disabled or elderly people as it has several very high steps from the street to the front door but also inside the apartment. It says in the description that there is a private parking attached to the apartment. This is also wrong as there is only communal parkings available.
