Very good and clean, nice spaces and rooms. Buffet for breakfast, but very colorless, local products were missing and the handmade mermalade was not handmade at all.

The Cleopatra hotel is located in the centre of Nicosia. It is billed as a 4* hotel (though feels more like 3*) which is very well located.
Strengths:
- Great location in central Nicosia, about 10 minutes walk from Nicosia old town, 15 minutes from Ledra crossing
- I found the staff generally nice
- Rooms are quite large and offer balconies
- Food (restaurant, room service) is reasonably priced and reasonably good
Limitations:
- Rooms feel a little aging
- Air conditioning didn't work in my room
- Noise insulation is close to non existent. I was first given a room overlooking towards the swimming pool which was nice, but at 5am, the person in the room switched on his tv and I could literally hear every word, every beat, etc. It was impossible to sleep. Thankfully the hotel managed to move me for the second night and that was great
- The hotel feels "budget" in some ways. There is a bathtub but no plug so you can't run baths, breakfast buffet (hot and cold) is pretty limited and coffees not very good (also in the room it is instant coffee), swimming pool (which looks very nice, probably the best part of the hotel!) was still close at the end of April and people's empty glasses etc were not collected.
In short, this is a good option for a decently priced hotel in an excellent location but don't expect something luxurious or very modern. With those limits in mind I recommend it as a choice in central Nicosia and would come again.

Several points:
1. I had booked a room and opted for an option for a large bed (I travel alone and am bulky so two beds are not good). After I paid, I was informed that the bed type can only be confirmed on arrival. This is contrary to EU rules because a customer must be able to rely on getting the booking what they have booked. I wrote them an email but I didn't get a reply.
Only after intervention of Booking.com this was guaranteed, but I still didn't get a reply to my email myself (not even to miin reminder email) until only a day before the bed could be guaranteed.
2. The website at the booking.com stated that there are disabled parking spaces and an elevator, but not that the hotel can only be reached by stairs. I have problems with my back and I'm not allowed to lift suitcase stairs. When I arrived, the receptionist did not want to find a solution to get my suitcase upstairs. He had problems with his back himself and he literally said it was not his job to lift a suitcase. So I had to lift that suitcase up myself with the risks to my back
3. I was on the second floor but the last day there was a party downstairs in the hotel (according to the receptionist in the room where breakfast was served). So I heard the banging of the music in my room. I didn’t feel like making a big deal out of this because the next day I was going to leave.
The ladies at the reception were nice, room also spacious, but it was a turn-off.
