Ibis Praha Old Town

I stayed at the Ibis Praha Old Town expecting it to be fairly cheap and cheerful — somewhere comfortable to use as a base while exploring Prague. I have to say, I was very pleasantly surprised. Firstly, the location is absolutely fantastic. It’s just a short walk from the metro and ideally situated for exploring the city. The Palladium shopping centre is literally about a minute’s walk from the hotel and is well worth a visit in its own right. It’s a huge shopping centre with plenty of shops and a fantastic choice of places to eat. We used the food court every morning and found it extremely convenient. The staff at the hotel were excellent — friendly, helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. What impressed me most was the standard of the room. It was meticulously clean, very well maintained and, in all honesty, looked as though it had only recently been refurbished. The shower was particularly good — spacious, modern and supplied with shampoo, conditioner, hand wash and other toiletries. Another huge plus was the air conditioning, which was absolutely ice cold. With temperatures outside reaching over 30°C during our stay, coming back to such a cool room was fantastic and made a real difference after a day walking around Prague. There wasn’t much of a view from our window, but that really didn’t bother me — we were there to enjoy Prague rather than look out of the hotel window! The lobby and foyer were also lovely, with a modern and welcoming feel. We didn’t use the hotel restaurant, but it looked very nice too. The surrounding area is excellent, with plenty going on and everything you could want within easy walking distance. Between the hotel’s location, the nearby Palladium, the metro and the centre of Prague, it really is an ideal base for visiting the city. Overall, this hotel far exceeded my expectations. Spotlessly clean, comfortable, excellent staff, brilliant air conditioning and, above all, a location that really couldn’t be much better. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again on another visit to Prague and would highly recommend it.

Location was amazing, very central to everything you need to see and in a safe area. Atmosphere was decent, lots of shops around, especially with the giant shopping centre next door, very handy. The room was decent, bathroom was clean and room was clean. The beds were okay, not the comfiest but not bad. The value was amazing, for the room being under £100 it’s very good. Noise level was fine, could hear some of the trams but barely noticeable. Service was good, staff were very helpful and friendly, very welcoming. Amenities were great, hotel bar and cafe which was great and would definitely stay again
