My husband will do anything to be "on the water," so staying at this botel was a must do. As it turned out, I liked it too. The hotel and restaurant are converted cargo vessels from the 1930s. One is the floating hotel and the other a floating restaurant.
The rooms were small but comfortable and clean. The bed was also very comfortable. No backaches for me! There was a safe in the room for valuables. The staff is small but very accommodating.
Being on the river front we though it could be noisy, but to our surprise is was very quiet. Breakfast is very good with plenty of options.
We found it a great value at under $195 per night including taxes.
Two notes to be aware of:
Bolt Drivers can not or will not drive down to the waterfront So you have to/from walk to street level. The stairs to the first floor (just above water level, are narrow, have a turn and rather steep, so caution when carrying your bags is in order.
The location is the biggest plus. Walking is easy, Charles Bridge is about a 15 minute away at 3/4 of a km

The Botel Matylda is one of two boats more along the quayside in Prague on the river Vltava.
One boat, the Matylda has accommodation and a restaurant, the other, the Klotylda has accommodation and the reception. There is an outside floating terrace between the two, where you can have drinks and food. This seemed to be the smoking area, so be aware of that.
The Matylda has a restaurant inside and served us delicious meals. Which were very reasonably priced, as was the wine.
We stopped in Matylda. The room is quite small, which was to be expected. The en-suite bathroom had a good, powerful shower and toiletries were provided. There is a hairdryer in the bathroom. There is a coffee machine with coffee pods provided. I had to unplug the coffee machine to use the socket as I could only find one other socket in the room, which I had plugged in the tower fan, as the room was not air conditioned and it was very warm. I didn’t realise until the following morning that there were fly screen up on the windows, which I could have opened.
The beds were lovely and comfortable.
The staff, were all very helpful and accommodating. I would definitely recommend stopping here.
It is a great location and is good for trams and for walks around the city.

We stayed at the Boathotel Matylda in Prague for one night prior to boarding a river cruise.
We found the Boathotel to be a great experience, with the hotel providing everything needed for a comfortable stay.
The Boathotel is actually two boats moored together, the Matylda has rooms below and a restaurant above with the other boat, the Klotylda, having accommodation and reception. There is also a floating pontoon type terrace moored in between the two boats, with tables served by the Matylda restaurant at bar, with views over the river Vltava.
Our room, room 1, on the Matylda, had tea and coffee facilities, a television, an en-suite with a powerful shower with toiletries and towels and storage space for luggage. The room was not air conditioned but had two opening windows with fly screens, giving us a good view of the river.
The hotel is perfectly located along the river front, more or less in between the old and the new parts of the city. The famous Charles bridge is a short walk away, likewise other tourist sights are close by, accessed either on foot or via the excellent tram service that the city has. There is a tram stop immediately outside of the hotel, which serves the number 17 service taking you towards the Charles bridge, then over the river or, in the other direction, straight into the city.
We booked for an evening meal in the Matylda restaurant, which has an Italian flavour. The food was excellent and very reasonably priced as were the drinks prices considering the prime location of the hotel. I would recommend booking the restaurant in advance as it did seem to be very busy. I believe that the restaurant and the pontoon terrace are open to non-residents.
The staff gave us great service throughout our stay, also storing our luggage before we could embark our cruise ship.
I am very pleased I found and booked this hotel. We had excellent service, a good, relaxing afternoon and evening, a super meal and it gave us the chance to explore Prague the following day, much more than would otherwise have been possible. Many thanks to the staff on the Boathotel Matylda for looking after us so well.
I would definitely recommend the Boathotel Matylda and restaurant to anyone travelling to and wanting to stay in Prague.
