We stayed there for 4 nights during May 2008. We did not get the room which we booked and were not made aware of it. The hotel was under renovation. We were put into the annex which is far from what we expected or booked. The entire place smelt of moisture, we had a room which was supposed to be a non smoking one but ended to be smelling like in an old pub. The sauna which had to be on the premises was also under renovation .Very noisy "hotel" workers still busy at midnight !!
Bathroom : I got burned while taking a shower , the water went suddenly steaming hot. The shower tub was not clean. No hairdryer as mentioned in the hotel layout.
Maintenance: We had to ask for towels. The room was not cleaned every day. Reception told us that this is a country standard for a 3 star hotel….non sense.
Breakfast: the room is dark, not very clean. This room being in the basement was really freezing cold we had to keep our coat on. We found empty pots of yoghurt at the same place during our entire stay. Not much of a variety of food.
Location vs price: This place is not central to the main town’s attractions, so it is expensive for what you get or rather don’t get.
We can not be positive about this hotel, they were not at all sorry for the inconvenience caused…. and when it came to pay the invoice, they obviously charged us the full price.
In case that you still would like to book, please take into consideration our very bad experience.

My friend and I have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Kamenicka in Prague. After reading the other review,I can only conclude that it must be another Hotel. My friend and I arriived at the hotel late one night. We were greeted_I use the word loosely-by a youngish woman with short dark hair.We were tired, hungry and thirsty. We were told that our room was on the second floor,so when I got in the lift I naturally pressed the button that had number 2 on.Silly me,according to the woman ,who was shouting asking me where I was, that was not floor 2.My friend was worrying where I was and what was happening as by now this mad woman was running up and down the stairs shouting for me too walk up another 2 flights. We explained that that was not the second floor then, but she just kept on shouting that it was.Bearing in mind that it was late,we were tired and I walk with a stick, not once did she offer to carry our hand luggage. We asked if we could get anything to eat or even a hot drink and she just said no and walked off leaving us outside the door of our room.
We too were given an apatment including a Double bed when we had asked for 2 singles. It was big, cold and empty, not what we were expecting.
In the morning, breakfast was ok except that there was only coffee or fruit teas,no ordinary tea, plus the usual rolls, cold meat and cheese.
That day there was a very nice older woman on duty.If only she could be there all the time as she was friendly and helpful. Each time we had to ask the madwoman for directions, she told us the wrong tram numbers and complete misinformation.
On our last day.we went out and had booked a taxi for 5pm from the Hotel. We got back about 3pm and asked her ifwe could sit anywhere while we waited for our taxi. She sent us down to the Breakfast room in the basement It was freezing cold and pitch black. She refused to put on the lights for us so we asked her to ring for the Taxi straight away and we could not leave fast enough. We had to endure 6 hrs at the Airport instead.YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!!

My fiancee and I had spent much time planning our 3 week Europe trip and I looked everywhere for a place to stay in Prague at a decent price. We wanted a step up from a hostel but not the 4* hotels that charge so much money. We found this little gem for 40Euro/night!! The
room was an appartment really, with full kitchen, living area, two bathrooms and a spacious bedroom. All very clean, hair dryer included. We stayed there three nights and fully enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was included...cold cuts, cheese, bread, tea, juice, yogurt, desert style pastries...all quite good. There is someone at the front door 24hrs which made us feel quite safe. The city centre can be reached very easily. A tram stop is 3min walk from the hotel, then a 5-7min ride to the metro and then a couple metro stops to downtown.....a very convenient location!! The manager of this hotel was fantastic, a lovely lady. She went out of her way to answer any of our questions and she even took apart a wall outlet to allow us to charge our camera battery (the adapter we had didn't fit the outlet initially). You cannot go wrong staying at Residence Kamenicka!!
