This was the worst hotel that I have ever stayed in. The building is a concrete monument that was the former headquarters of the secret police in Prague and still hs a communist feel about it - the only thing missing is the hammer and sickle
The main problem was heat - or more accurately the lack of it. It turns out that as the hotel was a former communist buidling that the heating is on a community loop system and only gets put on in October. I was there in September when the wather went down to 5 degrees C at night and no heat was available. The result was that I had to put on clothes to go to bed and then get up in the middle of the night in order to take a hot shower to warm up. In the end I had to change hotels due to the cold.
This hotel is basic, and located at the end of the metro line. It is not suitable for families or anyone who doesn;t like a real sense of adventure. The cost did not reflect the basic nature of the hotel (72 euros a night).
The breakfast was satissfactory - but the availability and range decreased as the week went on.
The staff could have been more helpful - often the reception desk is unmanned and you will have quite a wait before you will be seen to check in/out.
It would not be my intention to stay here again.
