Stayed for 3 nights; not a bad place. Ca. 15 min. on foot from the train station, and close to the university. Big lobby, friendly staff, with some English lang. skills. 2 elevators, room quite good, with flat tv, refrigerator, iron, radio. free wifi in the room. Breakfast good, but standard, more typical of eastern Europe. Furniture all good, but still reminds me of the socialist time. Curtain, for instance, had a big hole. Window opens up, and you could easily throw yourself to your death from the 6th floor. Still, all ok, would stay here again.

Highrise hotel, close to the university and also close to downtown. Big lobby, and nice staff. Huge breakfast room, and food was quite good, but not very impressive. Some hot food (mediocre), bread (ok), yogurt, cereal, cheese, cold cuts, etc. 2 elevators, a bit slow. Room ok size, but it might be too small for two (I had two beds). AC works fine, flat tv in the room, radio. Bathroom quite good, but the soap for the sink is just terrible. I could sleep well. Wifi works very well in the room. Free. Staff quite nice and competent, and helped me happily with some printing and scanning.

I stayed at the clarion hotel across the street from hotel Vladimir. I went to the bar at hotel Vladimir and the bartender said the hotel was being renovated and there were no rooms available. Better call ahead.
