BEST WESTERN Hotel Kronprinds Frederik

Our stay at Best Western Plus Hotel Fredericia unfortunately did not live up to the expectations created when booking. We booked and paid extra for a room with sofa bed and sea view. On arrival we were instead allocated a room with a bunk bed and without the promised view. This was a clear departure from the room that was marketed and that we had paid for. The room was also perceived as inadequately planned. A low hanging ceiling lamp was placed directly adjacent to the bunk bed, which posed an obvious risk of hitting the head during normal use of the room. At the time of booking via Hotels.com there was no information that the hotel restaurant would be closed during our stay. This created problems as there were no alternative restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel. Such information should be clearly communicated in advance so guests can plan accordingly. Even the information about the hotel gym turned out to be incorrect. At the reception we were informed that the gym was open until 21:00. However, when we visited the gym at around 5.30pm, we were asked to leave the premises as, according to the staff, the business closed already at 6pm. Overall, the stay was characterized by lack of information and several deviations from what had been promised at the time of booking. I expect a higher level of service, clarity and quality from a hotel in this category.

We arrived at 17:00. Got awarded a super room, with all 6 beds! Divided into two bedrooms. There was also a big table inside, so we sat around the table and played games that night. The day we arrived the restaurant was closed. But a small walk into the centre was only good after many hours by car. Included in the price of the hotel is a trip in the water park that is right next door. But this closed at 18, so we took it the next morning. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel.

We stopped at this hotel both on the way there and back as a stop on our trip to the North. Beautiful structure in a quiet environment, free parking next to the hotel. We had a superior room with a balcony and air conditioning. The rooms are very well-kept, quiet, and impeccably clean. The staff is extremely professional and helpful. Particular mention should be made of the breakfast, which offers a rich selection of both sweet and savory items. We particularly appreciated the presence of a wide variety of fresh fruit available for guests. We have been visiting Denmark for four years now, and this is definitely the best breakfast of all. We dined at the hotel restaurant upon our return, choosing the three-course daily menu. The cuisine is very well-prepared with careful selection of raw materials. A special thanks to Euan, who attended to us with professionalism throughout the dinner. This establishment is worth the trip and, of course, a longer stay. Definitely worth returning to.
