BEST WESTERN Golf Hotel Viborg

I was looking forward to a small wellness weekend with my boyfriend at the Viborg Golf Hotel, but unfortunately the experience did not live up to expectations. On arrival we were greeted by a lack of welcome – no information about the hotel’s facilities, opening hours or where things were located, creating a confusing start to the stay. Our room had several problems: The radiator in the bathroom did not work and the bathroom was not properly cleaned. The drain in both the bath and the toilet also did not work properly, so water accumulated on the floor every time you used the shower. In addition, the windows were poorly insulated, making the room cold around them. We had booked a room overlooking the front yard, but was placed on the ground floor overlooking the parking lot. The wellness facilities also did not live up to expectations. The sauna was out of service and the jacuzzi could not deliver sufficient hot water, ruining the relaxing experience we had looked forward to. Overall, the stay did not live up to the standard at all, and it was a great disappointment both in terms of service, facilities and the condition of the room.

Outstanding hotel, but if you are looking for a spa stay, then this hotel's spa is a little a thin cup the. The hotel serves delicious food, but the gourmet experience fades a bit due to the high sound level in the restaurant and then there is not even dish on the tables, which makes the restaurant seem a little canteen-like. The location is good close to both city and nature. There is a lovely hiking route around Søndersø which can definitely be recommended. One night in this hotel is fine enough. For a longer stay we probably got bored at this hotel.

We had booked two nights at the Golf Hotel Viborg in the weekend week 42 and were generally very happy. There is a pretty fantastic wellness area; especially the warm outdoor spa is a hit! Breakfast is fantastic - here is everything you could think of. The only minus, for us, was a room (125), where there was an unusual noise from the exhaust, heating pipe or whatever the hell it was (near the wellness area). We mentioned it twice. First employee had never heard the ‘problem’ before. On the same day, however, we were offered another room by another employee - with less than a day back it could barely pay off; but the flexibility was a welcoming step. If we are sure to get another room than this, then we will definitely return to the hotel, which has a great location in Viborg and right by the lake. There are plenty of good parking spaces on site. Overall a lovely stay.
