The room and service are very good; they make you feel at home. Additionally, the location is favorable for walking in the historic center of Cuenca, which is an attractive city for tourism.

I was a bit skeptical about this place but it was a real charmer. The service was impeccable and they had the courtesy of a late check out which was a huge plus for me. It’s not THAT noisy. Their balcony rooms have at least 3 layers of wood and glass to keep the downtown traffic noise out. It’s not soundproof but it’s totally doable. You can’t expect to have birdies and river current sounds if you’re in the middle of bustling cuencan historical downtown. Food is ok. Options are limited and kinda pricey for entrees opposite other hotels I’ve stayed in downtown Cuenca. Overall, it was a good experience. Special Shout out to the great shower pressure. Sooo comforting. Staff’s always at your service. Breakfast is regular but hey it’s included in a pretty decent rate. Would be back!
Its proximity to the tram is fantastic! Took it back to the airport and it was a hassle-free 10 minute ride.

Staying at Hotel Boutique Los Balcones felt very historical, with antiques and grand décor throughout the hotel. The lobby was absolutely gorgeous. I didn’t see any elevators, so if you have trouble walking up the stairs, make sure to request a room on a lower floor (total of 3). The room was spacious, but I wish it had a bit more of a modern touch; perhaps that’s the time period design the hotel was going for. The bathroom was renovated, though, with very nice spa-like shower stalls. WiFi worked great, where I was able to have Zoom calls without issues. The staff were overall friendly, being helpful at the front desk and the breakfast buffet. The hotel was pretty quiet as we didn’t see too many guests during our stay. Location-wise, it is about a 5-7 min walk to Calderón Park. Totally walkable, but do budget some extra time as the sidewalks are often crowded with tourists.
