My usual hotel in the Dokki area was full; the reception staff told me that the nearby Rose Hotel was certain to have rooms free and I can see why.

It's not a hotel. according to Cairo police it's a hostel and very bad one. i was there and i couldn't even sleep a night. The WC not working, the shower filthy and rusty and the water are very weak...
