I think it is a good option for trips to El Salvador. The hotel is spacious and well-decorated. The staff is friendly and efficient. There is a transportation company affiliated with the hotel that provides excellent service. It is worth highlighting the quality of the food from the different establishments in the hotel. The breakfast buffet is extensive and varied, and there is an area for typical Salvadoran foods, including various fresh and delicious pupusas prepared continuously by a very kind, attentive lady who is willing to inform or answer any questions that diners may have about the dishes. The shower integrated within the tub is, in my opinion, a downside that does not align with the modern and luxurious atmosphere of the hotel. Perhaps for many guests this would be a minor detail, but considering it is a luxury hotel, I would have expected a separate shower and tub.

Perfect stay for a family of four -> adjoining rooms made life easy. Impeccably clean everywhere: room, lobby, restaurants, pool, gym, spa. Gracious, attentive staff. Tasty, reasonably priced dining. Great city + mountain / volcano views. Club lounge ideal for light breakfasts and evening bites. And yes. the beds are dangerously comfortable.

For our stay in San Salvador I seriously considered booking at Hyatt Centric but they only have 3 suites so upgrade chances are probably remote.  InterContinental is older and has more suites but still only 7 of them so not enough to really hope for an upgrade as IHG Diamond Ambassador.  The real reason I picked IC over Centric despite my suspicion that rooms would be nicer at Centric was the IC lounge which I expected to be good while Centric does not have any and I was willing to compromise on an inferior room.  Our stay at IC did not start on the right foot.  The hotel was full so unsurprisingly no suite upgrade.  The lounge is small and pleasant, there were not many people, but despite less than 10 guests, the service was bad or non-existent with the only staff frequently running out to do god knows what.  Drinks were not self serve so it did not help to have inexistent service.  The lounge attendant told me they can do cocktails, great!  But one hour later I still did not have my drink.  At the end we left without my drink and I went to complain to express my disappointment with the lack of service.  I spoke to a manager and the stay changed completely from that point on.  They offered free dinner in the restaurant the next day.  Then during breakfast the next morning the same server was there, he apologized and we had great service from him and his colleagues every day from that point on.  Then I received an e-mail informing me of suite upgrade which was puzzling with hotel full but we were moved to a suite for the next few nights which was unexpected.  The dinner in the restaurant was very good, and the next evening we went to the lounge again and this time it seemed to be real lounge staff (not restaurant staff trying to juggle two jobs at the same time) and the lady there was present in the lounge non-stop and prepared nice margaritas on demand.  The breakfast in the restaurant was also quite good and included local food which I always like rather than simply traditional boring stuff found anywhere in the world. Overall quite good turn of events for this stay due to suite upgrade and quiet lounge with decent drinks. I would be happy returning to this hotel.
