Merchants House

The hotel met my expectations for the most part. Its location in the Old Town just steps from Town Hall Square was great. The staff was very helpful and polite. The breakfast was very good and served downstairs in a cave-like setting. I was at the hotel for three nights and my room was in the back building beyond the courtyard. Some renovations could be done as the stonework / pavement is all broken up. Yes, the building is quite old, but when you can't roll your luggage, that's not great. The outside staircase also is in need of repair. My room was fine, not specular -- but for the money it was very sufficient and, overall, the hotel is good value for the money. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Tallinn as its location is great.

Do not bother to stay there. Dilapidated and unkept. Equivalent of old Soviet style hotel

Excellent location in the Old City. We were able to walk from the hotel, did not require public transportation. Staff helpful and welcoming. We really appreciated they started breakfast for us a little earlier. They gave a great layout of the city- and they were right on. BTW: if you enjoy history, this is the perfect hotel and definitely the city! We would stay again.
