Scandic Kajanus

We were at the hotel for a weekend visit with our family. The rooms need renovation and new furnitures. There was a childern’s playground in the lobby and it was really dirty and filthy. From lobby you can go to the swimming pool and tickets can be purchased at the hotel lobby too. This was a nice thing. The staff was nice.

5 Stars for Kajanus Hotel – Outstanding Service with a Heart! Kajanus Hotel truly offers the best service imaginable. You won’t find warmer, more genuine people anywhere. I especially want to highlight one person – Niko at the reception. He’s the reason this is a solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ experience. We were planning to go into the wilderness on Sunday to see brown bears and wolves in their natural habitat. Unfortunately, it was 200 km further north from where we were staying, in an area without public transport unless you have your own car. This morning, I was heartbroken because it seemed like my dream was slipping away. Neither of us could drive, so it felt hopeless. But then… Niko, the young receptionist – a guy in his 20s – offered to spend his entire Sunday driving us there and back so we could still experience this once-in-a-lifetime nature event in the Finnish wilderness. We saw bears thanks to our hero! That is true service. And more importantly, that is the act of a truly good human being. 🇫🇮 The hotel itself is charmingly 70s and may not be the most modern in design, but the heart and soul of this place make it first class. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The staff here aren’t just employees – they’re the ones who make your stay feel like a true luxury experience from start to finish. I will definitely be back again!

Visited here Xmas Day 2024. Just came from Xmas Dinner buffét, which was simply horrible. I have never before needed to leave my plate almost totally uneaten: grave salmon was hard and unbelievably salty, chicken tasted bad, potatoes looked like mushy. The whole family could only eat candy to fill their stomach 😢😢. Honestly, never ever in my 48 years life have I left food uneaten in a restaurant. I pray that breakfast can be eaten. Hotel rooms are spacious but one can tell this hotel is not that well kept. I cannot recommend this hotel to anybody unless You do not have any other option or just want to stay over night without too much thinking of quality.
