What a unique experience at Hotel Korpikartano! We chose this location to see the northern lights, and even though the weather was not very cooperative, the hotel staff made sure we still had an amazing adventure while we were there. The atmosphere is quaint, cosy, and simple. More of a bed and breakfast community environment than a typical hotel. (If you're accustomed to luxury, this isn't it, but we were always more than comfortable!) It's easy to connect with other travelers at meal times and excursions too, and fun to make friends from other parts of the world. The food was hearty and wholesome, and they accomodated our requests for oatmilk and GF options. The hotel staff ensures you have a great time there, especially on excursions. From husky sledding and snowmobiling across the frozen lake, to nighttime guided snowshoe hikes and morning ice fishing, they are experts and ensure you're comfortable in the provided arctic weather gear. We also enjoyed the fields trips to visit a reindeer herder and the Sami museum and local souvenir shop. Overall, I recommend this hotel! It's unlike anything else our family has experienced and will leave lasting memories.

Hotel Korpikartano is a haven tranquility in the stunning wilderness, far from anywhere yet still accessible. The welcome is so warm, the rooms are comfortable and cozy and the food is delicious. All the staff and guides couldn’t be more helpful or knowledgeable, ensuring that you’re kitted out and ready to enjoy all the adventures this place has to offer as well as having time to unwind in the private sauna. This was my second solo visit and definitely won’t be my last.

We spent 4 nights at the hotel in January and everything about the stay was wonderful. They arranged our transfer to and from the airport and all our activities: snowmobiling, ice fishing, snow shoeing, dog sledding, learning from a reindeer herder, visiting a Sami museum, eating in the replica of a traditional Sami home ..... and we were lucky enough to see the northern lights. The food was delicious, the outer gear they supplied supplemented our own warm clothing and having a sauna every evening was the end to a perfect day. The guides Timo, Heimo and Allan went out of their way to make this a very special time for us.
