SOKOS VAAKUNA

The Original Sokos Hotel Vaakuna Rovaniemi is located at the end of the city's main street, just a few steps from the river. The location is very convenient for visiting the center and reaching the nearby park with a pleasant walk along the riverfront. The rooms are in a business style: not particularly large, but functional and equipped with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. Ours was on the ground floor and, to have a bit of privacy, we had to keep the curtains closed. The rooms on the upper floors are probably more pleasant in this respect. In any case, for one night it was a more than adequate accommodation. The hotel has a private parking lot, but the staff—who were very kind—suggested a more affordable solution: leaving the car in the public parking lots right in front of the property. They are paid, but if you arrive in the evening and leave early in the morning, the cost is lower than the hotel parking. Payment is easily made at the kiosks with a credit card. Breakfast is one of the property's strong points: rich, varied, and of excellent quality, with a wide selection of both sweet and savory items. In addition to classic Finnish breakfast products, you can also find salmon and an excellent porridge, perfect for starting the day. Overall, it is a hotel that we recommend without hesitation to those who wish to stop in Rovaniemi: excellent location, friendly staff, and a truly excellent breakfast.

Very nice and clean hotel with very friendly staff. The associated restaurant offers very good cuisine!

We stayed here one night on our Lapland road trip. Location is great in city center, parking in hotel's garage (19 euros), very friendly front desk. Nice, clean and quiet room, excellent breakfast. All this for reasonable price. What else would you need?
