Original Sokos Hotel Albert

Quality hotel very well located in the center of Helsinki. We had a very good night there, quiet, with excellent quality bedding. The breakfast is extremely varied and typical (many blueberry specialties, porridge, seeds and fruits, raw vegetables, smoked fish, cheeses, hot dishes, pickles, gluten-free if needed, Finnish pastries, etc.). Attentive staff.

I loved this hotel. It’s located in the design district which has all the best shops and restaurants. The breakfast buffet was amazing. I purchased the Helsinki City Card from the front desk. Such a great deal. I walked, rode the tram, went on the panoramic city tour and visited many museums.

Almost a boutique hotel, this is on the small side compared to mega-chain hotels. Despite the size, the experience was first rate. The rooms were well appointed and cleaned daily. The staff was friendly and English is commonly spoken. The hotel was quiet with little noise from the hallway or street. There was a small bar with reasonable prices. The included breakfast had a nice variety of hot and cold items. There are a couple of nice restaurants within a short walk of the hotel and the main shopping area near Stockmanns is about a 10 minute walk as is the railway station. Like a lot of European hotels, they put two twins beds together. The linens were comfortable and the room temperature was easily modified. The shower is small. Very small, like a cruise ship and the elevators are also quite small, 2 people with luggage, at most. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. This was an included hotel from our independent tour operator so I cannot comment on the price but we would definitely stay again next time we are in Helsinki.
