My family and I spent a night at the Blu Marina during a visit to Finland. The hotel is located on the promenade along the Aura River; along with the room rates, the hotel's only advantage. It is a dreary, outdated and unattractive hotel, desperately in need of a freshening up and renovation. Our room and its furnishings were basic and worn. Our bed was comfortable enough. Lighting was poor. The bathroom was basic, with a shredded rubber bath mat and minimum soap and toiletry items. The halls were dismal and worn; the decor of the hotel overall was late 50s ugly. Breakfast was sufficient, served in a large room unpleasant room. Staff was pleasant enough.
