My fourth time at this hotel, and probably the last. In my last reviews I’ve commented on issues such as ridiculous positioning of their so-called make-up mirrors. The hotel hasn’t even bothered to respond to these.
Once again I chose the hotel for my annual trip to Tampere, solely because it is conveniently located to the friends I am visiting. I was assigned room 681 on 6th floor, not facing the busy street Hämeenpuisto.
This room is probably the noisiest I’ve had in the hotel, and that means it tops the noise from the street and the barking dogs I’ve commented on in earlier years’ reviews. The aircon is SUPER noisy and cannot be switched off. The room as been renovated (haha) quite recently, judging by the fact that nothing is fixated to the wall with sticky tape like in some of my earlier rooms. Yet the shower has issues with water pressure and the temperature keeps changing from cool-ish to almost burning hot. They provide the usual basic-basic shampoo-bodywash and hair conditioner.
Scandic has started to charge extra for their breakfast, which means the breakfast room isn’t as crowded as it sometimes has been. The selection is pretty much the same it has always been and nothing you’ll remember the following week. The quality is good though, so the 11 e they charge for it seems okay.
After four visits I feel I’ve had enough of this groundhog day experience where all stays are the same in rooms that all look exactly the same, and will be staying somewhere else in the future.
