Hotel du Mouton

Everything was absolutely perfect, a very beautiful discovery. We were satisfied from A to Z, the welcome, the service, the staff, the dishes, the cleanliness, it has been a long time since we were 100% satisfied in a restaurant. I highly recommend it.

Fantastic little hotel, perfectly situated in Ribeauville so that its in town but not in a noisier area. The building itself is wonderful, 14th Century I believe. Inside it has clearly been renovated in the last few years and has a lovely boutique charm and individuality to it. The rooms are great, I did have a room with a view over the back of the hotel rather than over the fountain…but honestly I don’t spend a lot of time staring out of hotel windows anyway. The bathroom was lovely and the room more than spacious enough for us both (its not a massive room but considering its not a giant concrete block purpose build modern hotel building, it was plenty big enough). The breakfast room and breakfast were excellent. €16pp for a breakfast including Cremant, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs as well as local cheeses, fresh bread and pastries to me was great value. Also fresh brewed pots of decent coffee and fresh orange juice. The people running the hotel were lovely and helpful. This is not a 24hr reception available type set up, its a family run business in a small town in France…but they leave details in case you need them (I could think of no reason to bother them and sorted anything out with them when they were available). The attached restaurant was fantastic. Great food, great wine list, good value for the quality and service offered. The restaurant is closed Tuesday and Wednesday so check when you are staying. I’ve seen people complain that the restaurant was closed for their stay…it’s stated on their website these are their closed days so just do your homework…remember this is small town France not some giant tourist resort, nor should it become one because the village is wonderful as it is. Fantastic stay, when i go back to Ribeauville one day (which I am convinced I will) I will not doubt book here again.
