Dav'Hotel

What you see online is not what you get. The room assigned did not match the category booked – at all. I booked a street-facing double room based on the photos and category description. Instead, I was placed in a courtyard-facing room with nearly zero daylight, clearly inferior to what was advertised. Condition was poor: worn surfaces, dirty shower cabin, faulty lighting, and an overall neglected feel. This was reported on day one, before other guests arrived and there was ample opportunity to resolve the problem honestly. Over four days, the hotel failed to resolve the issue or even communicate a clear response. Staff repeatedly deferred responsibility to the manager, who supposedly came to see me – though I was clear I'd be away for work all day long, every day. A supposed “commercial gesture” was mentioned at checkout, after the stay was over: free breakfast on my *next* stay. It almost made me laugh out loud. The core issue is simple: Room categories as advertised do not reliably correspond to the reality on the ground, and the place is ran down. That makes this a very risky booking. (One pro: it is dead central in Clermont-Ferrand.)

Rooms were clean and tidy. Plenty of clean towels. Simple but fine breakfast certainly for what you paid for it. One of the rooms had a partial makeover/upgrade. The 2nd room (309) unfortunately had a broken air conditioning.

We liked this hotel, quiet, clean, friendly One night's half drive, downtown, near the cathedral
