Hotel Corona

I stayed here for a business trip due to its close proximity to the Palais des Festivales (5 mins walk away). Not being used to 2 stars, I was pleasantly surprised of the quality of this hotel. Basic, yes, but nice sized room, stylish enough, and clean. Very helpful and friendly staff, especially the manager. I had a window facing the busy Rue d'Antibes which is probably noisy on weekends, but I had no problem since I stayed a Sunday and Monday night. Recommended if you want to stay in Cannes on a budget.

Great location on the Antive Bolivar, clean friendly Strange black design, great for some, not so for others but unforgotten :)

Our reservation could not be met on the first day because of plumbing issues and we were sent to a nearby hotel which put us in a room that smelt like an ashtray and the door to the balcony had actually fallen off the hinge and could not be locked. Hotel Corona provided a 'free breakfast' of one croissant and help yourself to a baguette with jam (worst breakfast I have ever seen at a hotel or hostel) to try to make up for the inconvenience. This was an absolute insult. The free wi-fi advertised did not work at all for the three days we were there and each time we asked the staff to attend to it, they replied "don't worry". When we were eating breakfast on the second morning and still waiting for our room at 11:30am we were told we could leave our bags at reception (in the corridor) as the receptionist would watch our valuables but 5 minutes later we saw him working on another level of the hotel with our valuables unattended at reception which was open to the public. The rooms also do not look like any of the photographs on the website.
