Hotel Ambassador

Poor service as air conditioning was not operating effectively and the single staff member on duty was unable to help. They have suggested it was working and perhaps the settings were not properly applied. If that is the case, the staff should be able to help. All they could offer was a "technician next day" which is totally unhelpful/pointless for a one night stay. Post stay, no refund or discount was offered which I find ridiculous given air con is so important in extremely hot weather. Unhelpful and would never stay here again.

Perfect location, newly renovated spacious rooms with lovely bathroom. We were so happy to have booked this hotel. Rooms were quiet, air conditioning was great and we had a lovely view of the gardens and beach. So easy to walk across the road to the beach and boardwalk, or shop nearby with tram a few minutes away and restaurants everywhere nearby. Very reasonably priced for the location and we would happily stay here again.

Lovely hotel in an amazingly convenient location. Room was adequate size, very clean. The first couple of nights we were there, it was hot and there was no air conditioning. When we inquired the next morning, a manager gave us the option of switching to a smaller room in the back, telling us that it was cooler. She also told us that it was "illegal" in France, to turn the air conditioning on before a certain date. We stayed in the larger room, keeping the windows open to lots of noise. 2 nights later, the air conditioning was turned on and the rest of the stay was lovely. Other than that one manager, the rest of the staff was great.
