Mercure Promenade Des Anglais

Taxis are particularly expensive in Nice. Very disappointed by the ride on the little train; serious mechanical maintenance would allow for better hearing of the few comments about the city. The Promenade des Anglais is pleasant in the morning before 9 AM and after 9 PM, unless you enjoy the crowd. Not a fan of pebble beaches! An interesting city, however, if you have the time…

Hotel was okay. Clean rooms. Excellent location. Staff were mostly nice except for a couple of women who were borderline rude and certainly not friendly or helpful. Also if you ask them to organize a taxi for you, specify you do want a taxi. One of these unhelpful women organized a private service for us to the rail station even though we requested a taxi. We didn't know this until he arrived. It was ridiculously expensive for the ten minute run and we were totally ripped off. If you need a taxi, ring Bolt. Overall, Nice was wonderful. Hotel was average.

Very good hotel: renovated room, quiet, services in line with expectations. Special mention in Romane, in the breakfast room, considerate and attentive every morning. Thanks to her for contributing, through her kindness, to the success of this Nice stay.
