In Nice, we stayed one night that's why we chose a cheap facility, unfortunately we did not expect such bad conditions. The service of the facility was surly and not very helpful. The hotel room, although large, is very old and destroyed. In the kitchen, traces of cigarette burns, in the bathroom broken shower and under the window noisy party.

On the pros, the rooms are really large, location is close to the beach, the underground parking was big and easy to get in and out (though parking does come at a cost), lift access and despite coming after hours and having to do check in all on the phone (it was a long and convoluted process) reception was patient and courteous. The cons however, lack of air-conditioning meant room got hot and stuffy fast even with balcony opened and fans on making sleep difficult, WiFi is only available in common areas and rooms themselves are run down. While amenities worked they seemed to be on their last legs, the bed was hard and the mattress could do with a change, on top of that the wall had strange grey stains at least where the paint wasn't peeling. For the price they charged even out of season, I felt value for money it is perhaps not the best.

While it's definitely not a fancy place, the location was convenient and you could easily take the #99 bus from Nice Airport (get off at the 1st stop after the bus turns left from Promenade des Anglais) and walk a short distance to the hotel - save $$ on an expensive cab ride. Hotel location is in a "neighborhood" rather than on a hotel strip. Restaurants, grocery store, bakeries, coffee shops all nearby. The "tourist zone" for shopping and sightseeing is about a 20 min. walk, the Promenade des Anglais is a 3-4 block walk (15 min.). You can catch the #98 bus, back to the airport from this location. Plenty of buses you can take nearby if you don't want to walk. The apartment itself could use some updating but it had the basics and the bed comfortable (a deal breaker for me!). No Wi-Fi or AC but window opened and there was a ceiling fan. Had to ask for a kettle, hair dryer and a plug for the kitchen sink, extra toilet paper and dish soap but hotel reception was very good with getting these to us quickly. Reception staff were helpful with directions and visitor info was posted in the reception area. The apartment has residents as well as tourists. When reception leaves @ 6 pm you must remember your code to get back inside. Many folks didn't understand (esp. checking in after 6 pm) and continually knocked on the front door "begging" for someone in reception area to let them in. Although they "looked like hotel guests" (and some were guests of the residence) they may NOT have been someone you should be letting in! So for the sake of "safety and security" remember your code! Reception/lobby area had good internet service and hotel offered breakfast for a charge of 8 euros.
